Either meander or loop to the place you want the centre of the pansy. Follow up along the stitching line and make a 'bump' feather or as it is sometimes called, a tooth for the first petal.

Follow up the last side of the petal and make another bump feather about the same size as the first one for the second petal.

This bump feather needs to be larger and should fall directly across from where your starting point was for the first petal.

Make the last petal about the same size as the first two and end at the centre of the pansy.

Do some thread painting and create the centre of the pansy. Go back and forth making each line a different length.

Use some curly ribbon to fill in areas as needed by stitching out between two petals and back. Stitch out between two other petals to continue on with your meander. Add some leaves if you want or simply meander to the centre of your next pansy. A very quick and pretty free hand design to do whether you are working at a frame or sitting down at your sewing machine.
